Thursday 7th April

I used the same background for this page as I was playing on the shocked and frantic expression I wanted to create in Snow White's face. I thought the materials and colours could emphasis this and it has worked well. I worked onto the black background adding additional lightning bold style shapes. I used the same technique I have previously done for the backgrounds in order to create the colours in Snow White's dress. However, I used drawing ink as the consistency of it is a lot more liquidy, which means it would run which is what I wanted, as I did not want it to sit exactly in the outlines as it gives the impression again of being too controlled. Although I had thought about how the liquids would run, I didn't initially think of how the colours would mix together, however I really like how it has happened and created swirl type patterns too.

I feel this is one of the strongest pages in my book, and it just goes to show how working out of your comfort zone can pay off as I think the best work I have created so far are the experimental pages. I think it would work really well to use this particular page in my FMP as it really does make you feel the frantic panic Snow White is in.
